Prosource.it finished 2009 much as it started, with industry recognition in the Scottish Business Insider Scott-Moncrieff SME 300 Awards finals held in Glasgow early December, winning both the ‘Best SME 300 Employer’ and ‘Best Medium SME 300 Company’ awards. The ‘Best SME 300 Employer’ award recognises how a company looks after its employees considering such aspects as employee rewards, engagement and welfare. The award also considers the values and structure of the business and how they align with employee wellbeing. Prosource.it Workforce Director, Craig Adams paid tribute to the prosource workers. He said: “We have built our business model with our people at the core and enthuse them and motivate them through recognition and promotion, incentives and personal empowerment. Ninety per cent (90%) of our workforce who were with prosource.it five years ago, remain with the company today. |
| The ‘Best Medium SME 300 Company’ award looked at a company's leadership, vision, performance against business plan and future growth strategy. In particular, the judges were looking for companies that had prospered during the past 12 months and who would be an inspiration to other businesses. Commercial Director Stewart Proctor said: “Growing the company during the past 18 months of recession has been a massive challenge and is testimony to the quality of our workforce, the services we deliver and the commercial proposition we offer to our customers and the market. We feel good about the job we have done, but external recognition by objective and prestigious industry watchers is important validation that we’re on the right track.” Prosource began the year by being placed in the much coveted ‘Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies to Work for’ annual survey – being ranked 2nd in Scotland and 6th in the UK IT Sector. |

Further recognition came in July when Prosource.it became Regional Winner of the prestigious ‘Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ awards, held in Gleneagles. This string of successes in 2009 underlines a successful year for the company which saw us ramp up turnover 22% to £14.7m, despite the global recession. Profit for the year was a healthy £2.6m, helped by the contribution of our Houston office which delivered year one profit. |
