ABERDEEN FIRM MAKES SUNDAY TIMES TOP 100 COMPANIES

Aberdeen based IT service company has been officially ranked in the prestigious The Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For in 2009 Awards.

With 150 staff, prosource.it works with a wide variety of clients, straddling the energy, consumer goods, media, financial services, transport and manufacturing sectors – both in the UK and worldwide.

The prosource.it directors Stewart Proctor, Alan Cowie, Craig Adams and Steve Mackie have over 70 years of combined experience in the I.T industry and have the knowledge, foresight and experience to ensure that the company remains a spearhead within the IT services market.

Director Stewart Proctor said of the Top 100 ranking:

“The whole team here at prosource.it is absolutely thrilled at the recognition given by The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2009 Award. We are a close knit team and incredibly proud of our workplace ethic.

“Our people have led and delivered dozens of successful projects - from small, one location systems, to global deployments of 30,000 PC’s and 3,000 servers. We are large enough to meet the needs of our corporate customers, but still small enough to focus on the quality of our delivery.”

And with 90% of the workforce who were with prosource.it five years ago remaining with the company, Mr Proctor has a lot to be proud of:

“We are delighted that our workforce have rated the company so highly. All staff who have been with prosource.it for more than 12 months hold share options in the company, sharing with them the growth in the organisation. We are great believers in treating our staff with fairness and respect, and the result is a strong, loyal and happy workforce who are keen to build on the solid foundations of our business.” added Steve.

A total of 513 companies battled it out for a place in the 2009 Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For listing with prosource.it being ranked 50th in the UK, 2nd best in Scotland and 6th best in the computing sector. The staff survey contributes to 90% of a company’s score and this is a major influence on the company’s overall ranking.

Workforce Director Craig Adams added:
“In these challenging times, we recognise that there is far more to a company than its profit and loss. If a company is going to recruit and retain top talent and remain attractive to its customers it needs to be aware of its extended responsibilities both to its workforce and to the local community, and hopefully that is something prosource.it will continue to do. ”

Jonathan Austin – Founder and CEO of Best Companies stated:
“I would like to congratulate prosource.it on their outstanding achievement. Our role at Best Companies is to set a rigorous benchmark so that organisations can become even better employers and that has certainly been achieved by prosource.it.”
